My beautiful little bumble bee…
and super cute little sack-of-taters…
My babies are growing up so fast! I took thousands of pictures of Ella when she was a baby, but I never took pictures using the same object to see how much she had grown. I have a good friend that uses a chair to take pictures of her daughter every month and since Ella & Evan both have PBK everywhere chairs, I had to steal her idea! So, I started taking pictures of Evan this month in his big red chair. He looks so little in it!
It’s so hard to believe that Evan is already a month old! He is growing so fast! When we left the hospital, he weighed 6 lbs and 14 oz. and at his 1 month checkup he weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz. He’s starting to get those cute baby rolls!! I have been blessed with such a sweet and content baby! He hardly cries at all!! He loves to snuggle and be held close…he’s a good nap buddy! We are finally getting a little more sleep at night…up every 4 hours instead of every 2 hours!! Here’s what else is going on with Evan at 1 month…
Ella’s preschool class went on their annual Pumpkin Patch field trip to the Wilson Farm. It was a rainy morning, but it didn’t keep us away. We had so much fun spending the morning with Ella’s preschool friends and their parents!
Ella’s Preschool Class~they were all looking different ways and some of them were playing with the pumpkins and I couldn’t get all of them in the picture :)
Side note: Ella wouldn’t wear her blue school shirt because she said it didn’t match her shoes?! We’re in trouble!!!
Riding the hay ride that took us to the apple orchard for some yummy apples!!

Miles, Amelia & Ella petting Miss Susie the Donkey who is 30 years old! She just laid there and let all the kids pet her…patience must come with age!
Ella & Miss Sharon (Ella’s BFF!) Miss Sharon joined us on our pumpkin patch field trip! We love her and can’t thank her enough for taking such good care of our kids!!!
Ella picked out a pumpkin for Evan! It was the smallest one she could find :)
During “E” week at preschool, Ella wanted to take her little brother for show & tell. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Williams gave out admission tickets to all Ella’s classmates to meet Evan. Ella was so excited about taking her little brother to preschool. The kids were all excited and Evan did so good! All the kids said they wanted a baby brother…sorry Moms!!

Ella got all dressed up for Wacky Tacky Day at preschool. When I was getting her dressed she kept telling me she didn’t match! It was so funny! I had to convince her that it was okay not to match for Wacky Tacky Day. Everybody loved her tutu…one little girl told her mom that she liked Ella’s “cupcake!” Haha!! After preschool, we had to make a quick trip to Walmart and Ella insisted on going in completely dressed (tutu and all!) in her “wacky wear.” She was quite the attention getter…she told everybody we passed that she was “wacky!” I think she is one cute wacky, tacky gal!!!!
I love, love, love baby feet!! Evan has the cutest (and longest) little monkey toes! When the nurse put him in the incubator at the hospital he immediately wrapped his little toes around the edge like he was hanging on :) I couldn’t help myself…I took TONS of pictures of his little feet and I couldn’t pick just one! So, here are lots of pictures of my little monkey’s toes…
Evan got to meet his cousin Connor when he was just a few days old. These little guys were born 9 weeks apart. In a couple years, these 2 are going to be into everything! I got the opportunity to grow up playing with my cousin Alicia, Connor’s Mommy, and I can’t wait for these little guys to get to do the same. Their first play date didn’t go so well…
…we would get one to stop crying then the other one would start crying!
I can’t believe that Evan is already 2 and 1/2 weeks old! These past few weeks have flown by! He is such a sweet baby! He’s a cuddle bug and is already a Mommy’s Boy! He is finally starting to sleep a little better…we’re only getting up every 3 hours instead of every 2 hours. He still sleeps most of the day but we’re starting to see those little eyes open more and more every day. His daily routine consists of eating…sleeping…and pooping!! Did I mention LOTS of pooping :) He waits until you get a clean diaper on him and then he poops again! We’ve quickly learned that boys are very different from girls when it comes to diaper changes! In a 3 hours period, we had 5 outfit changes! We’ve now learned that it’s all about “positioning!” Haha!!
Ella: “Mommy, why is my brother a glow worm?”
Poor Evan had to “glow” for a few days to help get his bilirubin level down. When we went for Evan’s first doctor’s appointment, they called us and told us his bilirubin level had increased from 5.8 when we left the hospital to 16.5. Home health brought the “bili blanket” to our house and we wrapped our little glow worm up. He had to wear the blanket around the clock except when we went to the doctor. We had to go back to the doctor every morning for them to check his level. We were all exhausted!! The second morning Cory wasn’t able to go with me so my Mom took us. We got to the doctor’s office and realized we forgot Evan’s diaper bag! We didn’t even have a single diaper!! There was a grocery store right down from the doctor’s office so I thought if we could make it through the visit we could grab some diapers. Well, right before the Dr came in Evan filled his diaper with poop! No diapers, no wipes…so I had to go on a search for a diaper. As I walked outside the exam room, the doctor was coming in and I had to ask him for a diaper. I was so embarrassed!! The doctor laughed and said it happens all the time. To make me feel better, he told me a story about parents that left their kid at the office. It’s amazing what sleep deprivation can do to you!!!
The “bili blanket” worked!! Evan only had to “glow” for 2 and 1/2 days! He is doing so good and slowly losing his sun tanned skin. We are so happy our little glow worm is healthy!!!
