We spent most of Saturday morning at the beach. Ella was SOO excited to see the ocean! She also discovered how much fun throwing sand could be...uggghh!!! When the tide went out, we found a little "ocean pool" to sit and play in. When it was time to go inside, Ella pitched one heck of a fit!! She wanted to stay and play in the ocean and chase the sea gulls!
Ella was yelling at the birds, "I want to hold you!"

I LOVE the ocean this much!!!!
After a morning out on the beach, we packed up the gazillion things we had including a screaming toddler that wanted to stay in the ocean! We then headed to Charleston for an afternoon of shopping and dinner. We went to the market and watched the ladies make sweet grass baskets. I've always heard they were expensive but I never imagined that a small basket was $400.00! We also made our way over to King Street which is a gals shopping dream! There are shops as far as you can see in either direction! We had a great dinner and then set out to find the Cupcake shop. We walked like 10 blocks and when we found it, it was CLOSED! We missed the cupcakes by 5 minutes!!!! Grrrrr!!!!
Since we didn't get cupcakes that night we settled for Oreos when we got back to Janna's! Look at Ella's face...she said she "Like this cake!"

On Sunday morning, we were greeted by rain so we thought it would be fun to take Ella to the Aquarium. She LOVED the fish! It was such a neat place! They had a 2 story tank that simulated the different levels of the ocean. There were THOUSANDS of fish and several HUGE sharks swimming around in there! This is definately a must see if you are ever in Charleston!
I didn't get many pictures inside the aquarium because it was so dark. Here are a few cute pictures outside the aquarium...Maybe one day he'll turn into a handsome prince but hopefully that will be a VERY LONG time away!!
We grabbed a quick lunch at the Mellow Mushroom and then once again attempted to find that Cupcake shop. This time we made it while they were open and we got a Key Lime, Red Velvet, and Vanilla cupcake...we just couldn't choose! And as you can see, the cupcake was a hit with Ella! The Key Lime cupcake was DELICIOUS too!!!
The sun was finally back out and we decided to take a carriage tour of the city. Janna hooked us up with discounted tickets and front row seats! She has a way of talking people into anything :) Ella was so excited about riding the "horsies."
The view from the carriage. Our "horsies" were named Johnny Cash and June Carter...too cute! Charleston is an amazingly beautiful city with so much history!
Before dinner, we went back to Folly Beach to see the lighthouse that was once part of the island but now is out in the ocean. It was so beautiful!!!
We ended a great day at Taco Boy (Janna's favorite restaurant on Folly). We were worried that the music was too loud for Ella...but she loved it! She stood up in her high chair and started dancing! I better NEVER catch her dancing on any tables!!!!!! Ella also pigged out on guacamole which completely shocked me! She's a fan of Taco Boy!!!
We had so much fun at Folly Beach and Charleston! Thanks Janna for letting us take over your King sized bed! You were a fabulous hostess and tour guide!! We love you and miss you tons!!!! Watch out for those low lying branches...hehe!!!!
