It is so hard to believe that Ella is 8 months old already! This last month has been full of milestones and new discoveries for Ella. These milestones are bitter-sweet for Mommy and Daddy because she's not as dependent on us anymore. Here's a quick glimpse of what's going on in our house these days with an 8 month old...
~She's MOBILE. Ella learned to crawl and is all over the place. We can't take our eyes off of her for a second. From chasing the dogs around to pulling up on the couch, she's into everything and constantly testing our reflexes and speed. She loves standing up and fights to keep from having to sit down. We think she's going to be an early walker!
~She's TALKING! Ella has learned to say "hey" and "da-da." We're working on "ma-ma." Cory said he'll teach her to say "ma-ma" since she picked up so easily on his "da-da" teachings.
~She loves to play "Pat-A-Cake." Everytime someone starts the nursery rhyme she starts clapping her little hands. She's even started gabbering and clapping her hands in her own version of "Pat-A-Cake."
~She's eating all kinds of food! Her favorites are sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, and garden vegetables. Bananas are her favorite fruit. She HATES peas! She immediately spits them out and gags. So, no more peas for Ella! Maybe we'll try again in a few months. She has 2 teeth and is working on cutting a few more! She's proud of her pearly whites and shows them everytime she smiles!
~She loves to play in her activity center, jumperoo, and walker. Mommy and Daddy love these too because it gives them a chance to eat dinner while it's still hot and entertains her while they get their things done, like taking a shower! We never realized what a challenge getting a shower could be!
~She loves bath time! She gets so excited when she hears the water running in the bath tub. Splash, splash, splash with those hands and feet! The bathroom also gets a bath everytime she does! I think she's going to be a water bug and a star swimmer!
~Mommy's favorite time of the day is rocking her to sleep at night and reading a story or singing a lullaby. She loves to snuggle close and look into my eyes as she finally gives into sleep. It continues to melt my heart over and over again! When she's sleepy she starts pulling on her ears. We thought she had an ear infection but after having them checked several times they were clear. So when she starts pulling her ears, we start getting ready for bedtime.
~Ella LOVES music! She dances and claps her hands when she hears the music. Her favorite TV show is American Idol. She loves to sit on her Daddy's lap and listen to him sing along with the contestants. She also loves her crib CD player and listens to classical music as she drifts off to sleep. I think she's going to be a music lover like her Daddy!
As you can see, our days are filled with silly laughs, slobbery kisses, loud screams, poopy diapers, Pat-a-caking, singing silly songs, crawling around on the floor, rocking, cleaning up over and over again, wiping boogers, but most of all our days are filled with LOVE!!!!! And we wouldn't have it any other way!
