First Day of Kindergarten

DSC_0487 copy copy

Today was Ella’s first day of kindergarten!  As much as Ella has anticipated this day, I have dreaded it equally as much.  I just can’t wrap my mind around the fact that she’s old enough to be going to school!  Ella was excited and nervous about what to expect at big school.  She asked a million questions on the way to school and it was all I could do to answer them without crying!  When we got to the school, it was all I could do to hold it together.  She was super excited and walked right in her classroom to a room full of eager kindergarteners.  No tears and no looking back.  I think she even rushed me along a little because I wanted to take a thousand pictures :)  As I walked down the hall I was talking away to Cory only to realize he wasn’t with me but was still standing outside Ella’s classroom watching her.  I’m glad I wasn’t the only one having a hard time leaving.  I would have to say that leaving that school without her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done!  2:30 couldn’t come soon enough!!

Ella was so excited to have one of her best friends from SYC in her classroom. (and even more excited that they were sitting next to each other!)

From the smile on this face, I could tell she was going to be just fine…

Ella had a great first day of school!  She made lots of new friends and got to see some of her friends from preschool.  She is excited about going back tomorrow :)

Sunset Beach 2012

I LOVE Sunset Beach!  We have so much fun every year with my family.  This year was a little more challenging and a little less relaxing than years past because Evan was on the go and heading straight for the water!  He wasn’t scared of the waves at all!  He loved the sand just as much so he thoroughly enjoyed himself!  It was a week filled with lots of sun, sand, good food and company!

Every year I try to get some pictures of the kids on the boardwalk and beach.  Well, it didn’t quite go as planned…

This is how most of the pictures ended…Evan heading straight for the water!  Cory had to pull him out more than once!  LOL!

Finally, I gave up and just let him swim in his good clothes…and this ended up being my favorite picture of him!

This year the guys (and Mimi!) learned how to catch crabs…it turned into a major competition.  At one time they caught 10 crabs!   Ella had fun showing all the other kids on the beach her “catch of the day!”

He loved the water!  He would dive right in and not think twice about the big waves crashing on top of him!

Dancing and jumping waves…Ella walks around dancing all the time.  It makes me giggle because she truly dances like nobody is watching!  My mom says I used to do the same thing.

Eli did some serious sleeping on the beach!  Beach naps are the best!!!  Eli wasn’t the only one snoozing on the beach…

Love me some little sandy baby toes!!

I think Ella and Evan fed the sea gulls at least 3000+ goldfish.  Every bird at Sunset Beach came to eat!

Ella wanted to be a mermaid so me and Aunt Ashley buried her legs and made her a fin :)

So this is the best I could get of them together!  Evan wasn’t feeling it…love that little grumpy face!
