Getting Ready for Walking!

Today we were in Ella's room cleaning up and we put Ella in her crib to play. Next thing we know, Ella is standing in her crib holding on to the rails. We couldn't believe it! Not only did she do this once, but several times. We're now thinking that she is going to skip crawling and go straight to walking! She is growing up so fast!! Needless to say, Cory is lowering the crib to the next stage so she can't fall over the rails. Yet another step closer to being MOBILE!! Watch out everyone Ella's ready to be on the move!

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'...

...Ella is a rollin'. Ella has mastered the barrel roll and is all over the place. She was at her Nana's the other day and before Nana knew it Ella had found her way under the coffee table finding Gracie's bone. She is getting into everything!! She won't stay on her blankets as you can see in the pictures above. We thought we had a little longer to child-proof the house but we better get busy! She'll be crawling before we know it. She is already getting up on her knees and trying to crawl. Get ready Ella is going to be MOBILE!!!! The dogs better get ready too :)

I Hate Carrots!!!

Once Ella turned 6 months old, the peds office gave us the green light for starting solids. We started off with rice cereal, which Ella didn't seem to care for. You are supposed to give them rice cereal for at least a month but we could tell that wasn't going to work. So we broke the rules a little and started giving her Stage 1 baby food. She really seems to like the fruits and sweet potatoes but the veggies are a different story. She gags and almost throws up when she eats peas. I can't blame her...I hate peas too :) She doesn't seem to like carrots too much either. Here are some pictures of our first experience with carrots.

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Today was my first birthday with Ella here to celebrate! That made it that much more special! Ella really enjoyed the cake as you can see from the pictures. We sat her in front of it and in a matter of seconds she was in it. She stuck her hands right in the icing then went straight for her mouth. She went back for seconds and thirds. The icing was blue so after a few bites her whole face was blue! She had icing all over me, the table, and her! She was so dirty we just stripped her down in the kitchen and gave her a bath in the sink. She seemed to enjoy herself and is hoping that we go to another birthday party soon! From our experience with food, she hates veggies, fruits are okay, and icing is SOOO good! I think she's got a sweet tooth :)

Ella's First Christmas

Ella was definately on Santa's Nice List this year! Although she didn't realize what Christmas was all about she seemed to have a great time! She enjoyed eating the wrapping paper and bows off the packages. We were very lucky to get to spend time with our entire family over the holidays. We all 3 had a wonderful Christmas! With Ella here, it was by far the best Christmas ever!!!

Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch

After the long search for the perfect Halloween outfit, we finally found one in Ella's size. She is definately the cutest pumpkin I've ever seen! It was an exciting night for Ella. She got her first taste of sugar from a lollipop Aunt Candy gave her. She seemed to really enjoy it! After a long night of trick-or-treaters, Ella finally gave in and fell asleep in her costume (after she came down from her sugar high).

Ella's First Beach Trip

Ella made her first trip to Sunset Beach at 7 weeks old. It was a LONG car ride there and back with a 7 week old baby!

She spent most of her day inside with her Paw-Paw's. We were able to take her out on the beach in the mornings and late evenings, although she didn't seem to like all the wind. We were able to snap a few pictures of her in her bathing suits. Next year will be a different story at the beach! I can't wait!!
